postheadericon Team F in strong Superleague start / Fivercide & Gangsters share the spoils

A memorable night at Westway saw all four courts utilised with some cracking matches throughout the first Superleague double header.

In conference A, Phil Lyndon's Fivercide (team on the day Dave Smith, Carl Rennie, Phil Lyndon and Alex Nice) took on Ant Theodossi's Gangsters (Theodossi, Ryan Perrie, Micky Galperti and Jeremy Wootliff).

The first rotation was exceptionally hard fought, with Smith and Lyndon scraping past Theodossi and Galperti 15-10, while Perrie and Wootliff clawed a point back in an even closer 15-13 win over Rennie and Nice. The points were shared again in the second rotation, and again too in the third as neither side could establish an advantage. Match result 3-3.

In conference B, Pete Cohen's Four4Fives (Cohen, James Hammond, James Caplin, Freddie Rowe) were up against Ralph Morgan's Team F (Alex Cybulski, Adrian Love, Jonny Fagan, Morgan). Team F, while on paper a side noted for an even strength in depth, showed a killer instinct as Cybulksi and Fagan exploded out the blocks to take a shellshocked Cohen and Caplin down 15-0, while Love and Morgan extended the advantage in a 15-6 win over Hammond and Rowe.

The next rotation also went Team F's way - although Four4Fives played themselves into better form as the night went on and pushed Morgan's team in every game. Come the final rotation, Cohen and Hammond secured the first point for Four4Fives, coming back from 9-4 down against Cybulski and Love to win 15-10. Match result 5-1 to Team F.
