postheadericon EFA League: North Oxford top in Division 2

Division 2 of the EFA League is once again producing a large number of well-matched and exciting contests, with most teams now having started their campaigns and the table beginning to take shape.

North Oxford are currently top of the pile, with recent wins against potential title rivals Old Etonians and Old Salopians, both of whom had made strong starts. The first pair match between Graham Pulsford and Chris Austin of North Oxford and Ed Taylor and Ben Alderson of the Old Salopians would not have looked out of place at the higher end of Division 1.

Elsewhere in the Division, the promoted Old Citizens made a good start to life at the higher level with a 3-0 win over the struggling Old Olavians 3. Life has become a bit harder since with a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Highgate, who are looking like strong challengers for a top three finish or even better, and a match conceded to the Stoics, which leaves Nick Gill's men looking to re-establish their Division 2 credentials in the run up to Christmas.

The Stoics have also defeated the Olavians 3-0, which has put them in second place at this stage, although they will undoubtedly have stiffer tests to come, starting with their match against league leaders North Oxford early in November.

The other team to have started their season are the Old Carthusians, who lost a tight match 2-1 to Berkhamsted 2 at Westway.
