Anthony Theodossi reports:

The fourth instalment of the in-house Berkhamsted version of the Turnbull Trophy took place at the end of term. The brainchild of Doug Foster, the tournament has played a big role in keeping players involved in the game and also introducing members of staff to the delights of playing Fives. This year's tournament was a huge success with 24 pairs competing, our highest entry to date; both the skill and sportsmanship displayed in many of the matches were to a very high standard.

It wasn't until the final rounds that it would be clear who would be going through from the group stages, in the end we had the following two semi-finals:

Semi-Final 1
Mr. Walker & Nick Woof beat Mr. Northcroft & Matt Allen 10-4

Semi-Final 2
Mr. C. Nicholls & Hamish Percy beat Mr. Evers & Ben van Vlymen 6-2

This led to a final confrontation between Nicholls & Percy against Walker & Woof; the game could have gone either way and it was Nicholls & Percy who took the early lead going 2 - 0 up. Walker & Woof fought back however and after 15 minutes of play and the dust had settled it was Walker & Woof who had triumphed 6 - 3.
