postheadericon EFA League: Ipswichian resurgence continues

The Old Ipswichians continued their late season winning streak at Westminster on Tuesday night with a 2-1 over the Old Salopians 2, a result which moves the OIs level on points with the Carthusians and condemns the Salopians to bottom spot in Division 2. OI skipper Tom Fletcher did the damage at the top of the order, partnering David Leach to a 3-1 win over Salopians captain Al Taylor, back from injury, and Julian Black. Harry Turnbull and Tom Lister gained a much needed point for the Shropshire outfit at second pair, winning three tight games against Tim Wyndham and veteran Richard Wood, but the concession of third pair by the Salopians rather summed up their season and leaves them stranded at the foot of the table. For the Ipswichians, however, things are looking a lot brighter than they were a few months ago, and they move onto their final match and then into next season with renewed optimism.
