postheadericon EFA League: Awesome Olavians power on

The all-conquering Olavian bandwagon at the top of Division 1 is showing no sign of slowing down as the season draws to a conclusion. Olavians 1 played the Westminsters at Eton on Sunday; thir pair is still to be played but the Olavians are already 2-0 ahead even without the services of the injured James Toop and skipper Howard Wiseman. Matthew Wiseman and Pauli Markkanen were simply too good for John Reynolds and Doug Foster at first pair whilst George Campbell and Dave Mew were also dominant at second pair against Harry de Quetteville and Saul Albert.

Meanwhile, Olavians 2 responded with a 3-0 win over the Old Salopians at Westway last night. The Salopians conceded third pair and the quartet of Seb Cooley, Peter Cohen, Ant Theodossi and Ryan Perrie conceded only 14 points between them as they moved four points clear at the top, not counting the points from the incomplete game at the weekend. Olavians 1 are still the favourites to win the league, but the second team are in a strong position to cash in should Howard Wisman's men slip up in the run in.
