postheadericon EFA League: Solid Citizens win again

In their first season back in the League, the Old Citizens closed in on winning the Division 3 with a 2-1 win over defending champions Windosr & Eton at Highgate last week. With skipper Nick Gill unavailable, his former Cambridge team mate Dexter Davis slotted in to first pair and partnered Rob Cooper to a close 3-0 win over Nick Bunyan and Will Skjott. Ian Mitchell and Robert Wilson, still on a high from winning the Northern Festival the weekend before, levelled the match at second pair with a four game win before the Citizen third pair of Stockton and Heindorff clinched the win with a comfortable 3-0 win over Tom Goodman and Mandie Clemmett.

The importance of this win for the Cits was shown a few days later at Westway as W&E returned to winning ways taking maximum points over a disjointed London Universities side, suffering from a late drop out and an ineligible player as well as succumbing tamely on court to a rampant W&E outfit.
