postheadericon EFA League: A good week for Highgate and Olavians 3

With North Oxford and the Old Millhillians increasingly looking like being involved in a two-way fight for the Division 2 title, the chasing pack have been playing this week and taking points off each other. The biggest movers have been Highgate School, with a 2-0 home win over the Etonians and a 2-1 away victory over the Stoics at Westminster taking them into double figures for the season and into fourth place in the table, one point behind the Old Olavians 3. A good sign for the Old Stoics was the appearance of youngster Jonty Irving at second pair, given the paucity of bona fide Old Stoics currently on the circuit. Billy Dennis's Olavian team consolidated their third place at Westminster on Tuesday night with a 2-1 win over Old Westminsters 2. Billy himself led the way with partner Luke Stradwick, as they won 3-0 against Harry de Quetteville and Freddie Krespi. Edward Levy and Conrad Shawcross struck back for the OWs at second pair as they beat Olavian teenagers David Hewlett and Janahan Elansei. There was more experience in the Olavian third pair and wily old pros Andrew Aitken and John Sanderson were unable to do anything to prevent Arun Kalra and Charlotta Cooley cruising to a comfortable win. The Division 2 action continues tonight as Highgate take to the courts once more against the Carthusians, looking to leapfrog the Olavians and make it into the top three.
