postheadericon EFA League: Westway on top against Lancing

Team Westway moved up to second place in the Division 3 table with a 2-1 win over Lancing Old Boys at Westway last night. The Westway team were able to call on the quality and experience of Ryan Perrie at first pair and he teamed up with Old Harrovian James Hammond to beat Nigel Cox and Julian Black in three straight games. Lancing turned the tables at second pair, where the wily Richard Black and Dan Bell were too canny for youngster Josh Butler and ex-Cambridge player Ralph Morgan. Third pair saw the tightest battle of the night with Jamal Saleh and Michaela Galperti claiming first blood for Lancing with a 14-12 win in the first game, before the Westway duo of James Caplin and Freddie Rowe turned the tide and won the next three games to 6, 7 and 9. The win moves Westway up to second in the table, 1½ points behind Lancing but with two games in hand. Division 3 is certainly shaping up to be highly competitive this season.
